'Prometheus 2' News: Ridley Confused with Movie's Title?
Being a 77-year-old director is never a joke and it takes someone as bright as Ridley Scott to handle the issues that come with being of age and yet have the determination to push through with movie-making.
Scott has been in the news for some time after the declaration of "Prometheus 2" and he continues to steal the spotlight as shooting draws very near.
From what the director has already said in previous interviews, it is understood that shooting will begin in February of next year and the movie will be called "Alien: Paradise Lost."
However, in an interview during the AFI Film Festival on Thursday, Scott told Scott Foundas something that took the attention of several outlets. According to The Playlist, the aged director changed the upcoming movie's title. He said, "I was going to be doing what will be called 'Alien: Covenant,' which starts shooting next February..."
While it is unclear if he was referring to "Prometheus 2" or another movie, it sure is interesting to know that if he was referring to the anticipated sequel, he has just confirmed that "Prometheus" is linked to the "Alien" franchise.
The International Business Times says Scott has reiterated three years back that "Prometheus is not a prequel to Alien," but with his recent statements, it could mean that he has just linked the two movies together.
On the other hand, the "Black Hawk Down" director just may have gotten himself confused over all the movies he has done and all his plans for the film that he has just reclaimed from the hands of other directors who took over when he declined involvement with the previous sequels.
Also, Scott said earlier that he has plans for the upcoming sequels, meaning the previous directors would not have a say about the changes Scott may apply to the initial arrangements set for the franchise.
"Alien: Paradise Lost" or "Alien: Covenant" hits the big screens on May 30, 2017.
