'Prometheus 2' spoilers: Sequel to feature a different alien and possibly multiple Fassbenders
"Prometheus 2" is the much-awaited sequel to the movie "Prometheus." The film will be directed by Ridley Scott and it is said that the movie will begin filming early next year, most likely in January.
The plot of the film remains unknown, but it will bring back stars Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender as they reprise their roles. The movie will reportedly feature multiple versions of the android David played by Fassbender.
The movie is being rewritten by Michael Green who had worked with Scott on a new "Blade Runner" film. Green is reportedly working on a story line that includes several different versions of David and that his aim to get closer to the original Alien story line that spawned many sequels.
The film will introduce an entire new alien species to replace the Xenomorph alien in the 2012 movie. There is a theory that the movie will introduce the original alien species from the comics, but that remains unconfirmed.
Director Ridley Scott is planning to create something real and scary for the upcoming sequel. "The alien's real which is why it's probably one of the scariest monsters in film history. So with Prometheus 2 what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act," he said. Furthermore, he added that he wants to go into new directions with regard to creature and alien design that will appeal to all.
There are a few fan theories regarding the movie that have been floating around, one of which is that the engineers actually fear the human race, which they may have created in the first place. Another theory is about time travel and another human spaceship. And the mysterious black good could be revealed not as a weapon but as an evolutionary thing.
Other theories include another crew landing on LV-223 to pick up the Xenomorph, while Shaw dies right away to make way for the new crew. She could also visit the home planet of the engineers just to find it completely devastated or she could find herself face to face with "God," and whatever Green and Scott decide to do will undoubtedly excite the fans of the movie as it will be very interesting indeed.
There is no date yet set for movie, but it might come out sometime in 2017.
