PS4 February 2016 New Game Releases: 'Crypt of the NecroDancer,' 'Not a Hero' Hit the PlayStation Store First Week of the Month
PlayStation 4 owners have at least two reasons to celebrate February, as Sony has revealed two new games that will be releasing next month. These are "Crypt of the NecroDancer" and "Not a Hero."
"Crypt of the NecroDancer"
A "roguelike rhythm game" from developer Brace Yourself Games titled "Crypt of the NecroDancer" is coming to the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on Feb. 2. It's a 2D dungeon crawling game with a twist; it adds rhythm-based movement and combat to the mix.
The PC version of the game was released to positive reviews last year. Players control Cadence as she explores four zones with randomly generated levels, picks up gear, and defeats musically motivated monsters.
Players have a chance to win trophies and play Daily Challenges. There will be new characters that players can unlock as well.
PS4 owners can play the game with a dance pad and enjoy all the music in the PC version plus a new and exclusive soundtrack from Jake "Virt" Kaufman ("Shovel Knight") and "one additional surprise."
"Crypt of the NecroDancer" is a cross-buy, so gamers can buy it once on either console and play with it on both at no extra cost.
"Not a Hero"
The makers of "OlliOlli" have announced a brand-new game that's set to release next month. Developer Roll7 is bringing the rabbit from the future, Bunnylord, to the PS4 on Feb. 2.
The game is a visceral shooter featuring 2D graphics and a side-scrolling mechanism. Players can select among the nine playable characters in the game and rid the city of criminals while persuading the townsfolk to support Bunnylord.
The game was first released to the PC and now to the PS4. Unfortunately, the game will not be coming to the the PS Vita, as confirmed by Eurogamer.
"We really wanted to bring Not a Hero to Vita but, unfortunately, due to constraints of both time and money (both of which we have very little of!) we felt it was in the best interests of the game to concentrate on making sure the PS4 version was absolutely the best experience that it could be," developer Roll7 told Eurogamer. "It sucks that we couldn't make it happen on Vita, but rest assured the console version is definitely worthy of your 10/10 review score."
