'Quantico' spoilers, cast news: Priyanka Chopra to play lead

There is a new thriller series that will hit the small screen very soon. "Quantico" will follow a group of the best and brightest young FBI recruits enrolled at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia. However, one of them will be suspected of being the mastermind behind the biggest attack on New York City since the devastating 9/11.

The upcoming series will have an ensemble cast, though it will mostly center on Priyanka Chopra's character Alex Parrish. Other cast members include Jake McLaughlin as Ryan, Yasmine Al Massri as Nimah, Johanna Braddy as Shelby, Tate Ellington as Simon, Graham Rogers as Caleb, Aunjanue Ellis as Miranda Shaw the assistant director of the academy, and Josh Hopkins as Liam O'Conner, Shaw's subordinate and a special agent.

Actress Priyanka Chopra is a Bollywood star who is already known internationally, and this will be her first-ever American television show. Chopra spoke about joining the show and feeling like a newcomer. "It's great to see the show get such amazing marketing support from the channel. The entire team is excited about the response we've been receiving. It reminds me of what I felt when I saw the first hoardings of 'Andaaz' (Bollywood debut film) in Mumbai. I feel like a newcomer all over again. So there are butterflies [in my stomach], and my fingers are crossed," she said. The actress also shared some photos on Instagram from the set. One is of her practicing a fight scene with a co-star. Another one is of her after the second episode finished filming.

The entire cast spent some time with actual FBI agents. The show itself was inspired by the series "Lost" as it will be told in two time periods, the present day and the near future. The viewers will know who the terrorist is by the end of the season, but the writers will be putting in a lot of red herrings to mislead the viewers, so watch out.

Actor Rick Costnett from "The Flash" has landed a recurring role in the upcoming series. He will play Elias Harper, an openly gay and incredibly funny former defense attorney who used his wit and savvy against some FBI cases. He was recruited by Miranda as an analyst because of his brilliant mind and he loves being right. He also has a soft and kind-hearted side.

Actress Anabelle Acosta from "Ballers" also has a recurring role in a multi-episode arc in the upcoming series. She will play Nathalie Vasquez, a former cop from Laredo, Texas, who is driven, fiercely competitive, and is only interested in coming out on top. She is not much of a team player.

Quantico will premiere on Sept. 27 on ABC.
