Quicksilver to Get 'Bigger and Better' Exposure in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'
Evan Peters has confirmed he is as Quicksilver in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" in a "bigger and better" scene featuring his character.
Peters, who played Quicksilver/Peter Maximoff in 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past," told MTV the next sequel, "X-Men: Apocalypse" will feature his role in a larger scope when it premieres early next summer.
Peters earlier stole the show from Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) in his "Time in a Bottle" sequence in the previous film, where, as a mutant with superhuman speed, he breaks Magneto out of a non-metal high security prison underneath the Pentagon.
Peters, 28, who played supporting superhero Todd Haynes in 2010's "Kick-Ass," told MTV the upcoming sequel's special effects people were working on something "bigger and better" to top off the Pentagon escape scene for the next X-Men movie.
Peters described "X-Men: Apocalypse" as a "massive" undertaking involving more mutants who band together to fight off Apocalypse and prevent the end of the world from occurring.
Hugh Jackman has already been confirmed to return in his second to the last role as the Wolverine, alongside Jennifer Lawrence's last appearance as Mystique. McAvoy, Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, and Josh Helman as William Stryker, will also be returning alongside a new cast of characters portraying mutants as their younger selves.
Tye Sheridan plays a younger Cyclops, Sophie Turner from "Game of Thrones" takes over the role of Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp plays Storm, and Kodi Smit-McPhee portrays the young Nightcrawler.
Other new cast members include Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee, and Oscar Isaac as ancient mutant and main antagonist, Apocalypse.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is due in U.S. theaters on May 27, 2016.
