'Real Housewives' Kyle Richards on Kim's Addiction: 'People Don't Understand'
"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards has spoken out about her sister Kim's battle with addiction, revealing that their relationship is not the same.
During season two of the hit reality TV show, the mother of four came under fire for outing Kim's alcoholism before Bravo TV cameras. During the season three reunion show Richards was criticized for allegedly not being supportive enough to Kim, which she has attributed to a lack of understanding.
"People don't understand it is difficult for everybody involved," Richards told RadarOnline.com.
"You never stop caring, but you get angry sometimes, but Kim's doing really well. She's in a good place. It's hard on everybody. It can be very difficult. But thank God she's in a good place," she added.
Richards, 44, and Kim, 48, are often seen bickering on the show, and the former child star's battle with addiction is almost always at the forefront of their issues.
"I can say whatever I want, but if anyone says anything about your family, they're in trouble!" Richards explained.
"We are in a good place now, but we're not able to start from scratch. There is a lot of damage that has to be repaired, and we're repairing that," she said.
Richards was left in tears when co-star Brandi Glanville suggested that the reality star takes delight in seeing her sister struggle with addition.
"Kyle was always doubting Kim's sobriety, and I almost feel like it would make her happy if she failed," Glanville told Bravo TV host Andy Cohen during a group discussion.
The former model's statement stunned her co-stars and Richards, who was seated directly alongside Glanville, immediately lashed out at her.
"You know nothing about my history of what I've gone through with my sister, or anything about us," a sobbing Richards said.
"I've spent every f------ night of my life … every single night saying a prayer to God to keep my sister sober. First to get her sober, and now to keep her sober. That is the meanest thing you could say," she continued.
