'Real Housewives' Lydia McLaughlin Doesn't Trust Gretchen Rossi
"Real Housewives of Orange County" season eight addition Lydia McLaughlin recently spoke out about Gretchen Rossi and why she does not trust the aspiring singer.
During episode four viewers saw McLaughlin being introduced to the "Housewives" and while she appeared to get along with the vast majority of her new cast mates, her meeting with Rossi, 34, was intensely awkward. McLaughlin attempted to bond with Rossi but received one word responses from the reality TV star.
"Can you say deer in the headlights? [Mclaughlin thought] 'Oh yes, the girls don't like me!' But I have been around other girls and it never ends up with 'get the **** out,' and 'please don't hit me,'" she told RadarOnline.com.

"So no – I had no idea what I was walking into. I probably wouldn't have walked into it had I known!" she added.
Rossi has received widespread criticism for her treatment of co-star Alexis Bellino – who is a close friend of McLaughlin. It now appears that McLaughlin and Bellino, who is a former friend of Rossi, share similar views on the engaged reality star.
"I am not that close with Gretchen I feel like it is hard for me to trust her," she said.
"We will have conversations and I feel like things are one way, then I'll read her blog that week and it is the exact opposite from what we just talked about… so she confuses me sometimes," she continued.
Rossi's fiance Slade Smiley, 40, is renowned for engaging in conflicts with the "housewives." During season seven the radio host was embroiled in a feud against co-stars Tamra Barney and Vicki Gunvalson and he now appears to have issues with McLaughlin.
"Slade and I definitely aren't the greatest of friends, which you will see this season. We have a few words with each other," McLaughlin said.
"I am close to several of the ladies, I've made some really good friends through this experience. I called Tamra and got some advice from her, especially when some of the ladies are calling upset with me – I feel like she's dealt with that before! I feel like she is a genuine friend," McLaughlin explained.
McLaughlin, who is a married mother of two, also described Bellino and fellow "housewife" Heather Dubrow as being "genuine friends."
"I also really like Alexis and Heather. I have hung out at Heather's home when we aren't on camera and we've been to see some movies together so I feel like she is a true, genuine friend," she said, adding that – unlike some people on the show – her pals, "are genuine, don't twist my words and they get me."
