'Real Housewives of Atlanta' News: Nene Leakes Becomes Highest Paid Housewife on Bravo

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Nene Leakes is about to live an even more fabulous life than before as Bravo has recently given her a sizable raise to convince her to be on the show's seventh season.

According to Radar Online, Leakes will be earning $1.5 million for the upcoming season, making her the highest-paid Bravo reality star.

A source from the website said that Leakes was able to successfully negotiate for the pay increase "because she is the most popular housewife of any of the Bravo franchises."

"Without Nene, RHOA wouldn't be the ratings blockbuster that it continues to be. While some of the other shows including [Real Housewives of New Jersey] and [Real Housewives of New York] have endured ratings slumps, Atlanta has never had to endure that," the insider explained.

Last year, OK! Magazine revealed who among the housewives in the Bravo family is currently the highest paid. Nene Leakes was leading at $1 million, followed by Teresa Giudice of RHONJ at $650,000, while Ramona Singer and Countess LuAnn De Lesseps of RHONY each earn $500,000. Vicky Gunvalsson tops the Orange County earners at $500,000, while Lisa Vanderpump of Beverly Hills earns $350,000.

Leakes has been in the show since it premiered in 2008. She also starred in a spin-off series called "I Dream of Nene" which focused on her second wedding to husband Gregg Leakes.

The reality star was a contestant on season 18 of "Dancing With the Stars" and had a recurring role on "Glee." She was also a regular cast member on "The New Normal" before it was canceled.

Currently she has a very successful clothing line for "regular sized" woman on HSN and helps Andy Cohen comment on fashions at Hollywood Award shows for "What Happens: Live."
