'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Star Yolanda Foster Reveals She Uses Stem Cells to Fight Lyme Disease
Yolanda Foster has an ongoing battle with Lyme disease, and the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star has turned to alternative treatments as she looks forward to recovering from the debilitating disease.
On Thursday, May 7, the 51-year-old former model took to Instagram to give her followers an update about how she's coping. She posted a photo of herself with her eyes closed while resting in bed, and her left arm sports a small white bandage on which someone had drawn a smiley face.
She captioned the shot, "Sweet dreams to my new stem-cells, may they strengthen my immune system to destroy the silent killer inside of me and turn this Mess into a Message."
According to the Lyme Disease Association website, stem cell transplant is said to have the capacity to repair the neurological damage that is caused by Lyme disease, such as encephalitis, chronic fatigue or myelitis. But the cells do not get rid of Borrelia, the bacteria that cause Lyme disease.
Foster has kept her followers updated with her condition with frequent posts as she gets treatment in Germany, where she has been since April, according to Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, her husband, composer David Foster, is said to be pressuring her to quit RHOBH as her illness worsens.
Filming for the upcoming season is scheduled to begin this summer, and an insider told Radar Online, "David has told Yolanda there is just no way she can return to the show because her condition is just getting worse. The Lyme disease is just ravaging her, and traveling for the international medical treatments is taking a toll."
"David is just being protective because he doesn't want any of the ladies to use her illness against her, as he knows those women are vicious," adds the source.
