'Real Housewives of New York City' News: Bethenny Frankel Opens Up About Recent Surgery
"Real Housewives of New York City" star Bethenny Frankel has just overcome a huge ordeal.
Recently, the reality star revealed having undergone surgery after a mass on her face had been diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma. Prior to her recent revelation, she opened up about being subjected to a skin test to confirm the malignancy of the mass that grew on her facial skin.
In a recent interview, Frankel updated her fans about her current condition, saying that the growth on her face had already enlarged, so her doctors decided to finally remove it. "The doctor confirmed it is indeed basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer, and says while it is cancer, I am lucky to have it removed — so it won't affect my overall health," she said.
After what happened to her, Frankel encouraged her fans to protect themselves from sun exposure by wearing large hats, covering their face and applying sunscreen when exposed to extreme heat. According to her, she was just extremely lucky to have had her condition treated soon.
"Always make sure to rub in spray-on sunscreen on your kids—spraying it on by itself doesn't cover them enough. Apply it thoroughly every two hours and check the expiration dates as sunscreen does expire, and sit in the shade whenever possible," she stressed.
The reality star said that she is the type who loves to swim and go to the beach, and what happened to her should be a reminder to everyone that the sun is not really their friend.
Forbes describes Frankel as one of the top-earning reality TV stars today, having earned an estimated £6.69million between June 1, 2015 and June 1, 2016. Aside from being a reality star, she is also a business person who owns a wide range of stores that sell various products like granola bars, lunch meats, candies, and shapewear.
