'Real Housewives of New York City' News: Bethenny Frankel to Undergo Surgery After Skin Cancer Diagnosis
"Real Housewives of New York" star Bethenny Frankel is set to undergo surgery after it was discovered that the growth on her face was cancerous.
The Skinnygirl Cocktails founder and reality television personality recently revealed to fans that she had the growth on her face removed and tested, and results showed that it was a form of skin cancer.
"I had a growth on my face that was enlarging. I guessed it to be a basal cell carcinoma and had it lanced and removed," the 46-year-old confirmed to PEOPLE. "The doctor confirmed it is indeed basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer, and says while it is cancer, I am lucky to have it removed — so it won't affect my overall health," she added.

Following her diagnosis, she urged others to be more careful in protecting their skin from too much sun exposure, saying that although she loves swimming in the ocean and going to the beach, she now realizes how important is to wear sunscreen and large hats to cover the face from the sun.
"I am now scheduled to undergo Mohs surgery to remove the cancer, followed immediately by plastic surgery to remove any scarring," Frankel shared.
The growth was located on her right cheek, just below her eye.
In other news, Frankel has been actively campaigning on social media to urge her fans to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
She also recently headed to Houston to meet with the hurricane victims. She was able to gather about $300,000 in donations through her B Strong foundation, which supports women and their families in crisis, Variety reports.
Working hand-in-hand with Us Weekly Entertainment Director Ian Drew, and with the help of wealthy connections, they delivered the donations to the hurricane-stricken families of Houston. According to the report, everyone they met during that day went home with envelopes containing $1,000 in cash and Walmart gift cards.
