'Real Housewives of New York' News: Former Reality Star Alex McCord Now a Psychologist
Former "Real Housewives of New York" star Alex McCord is now a qualified psychologist. This new development was revealed by Bravo's Andy Cohen, who comically said that McCord could now help her former cast members whom she previously described as "crazy women."
Last week the "Watch What Happens" live host posted on Twitter, "Congrats to @mccordalex who is officially a psychologist! Too bad she is all the way in Australia, a thriving NYC practice awaits. #RHONY"
Before being fired from the reality show in 2011 after appearing in four successful seasons, McCord was one of the most controversial stars of "Real Housewives of New York." Today, she lives a quiet life in their small rural home in Australia. She stays with her Australian husband, Simon Van Kempen, and her two sons Francois and Johan, after choosing to leave New York for the Land Down Under years ago.
Last July, McCord appeared on the Australian morning TV show "Sunrise" and said she was happier since she left the reality show. "All the women who stayed on the show have lost their marriages and their family. Why would you ever give up your children and your husband for crazy women?" she said. That time, she shared that she was back in school to study psychology.
Prior to her guesting at the morning show, McCord declared that she wanted to climb the social ladder in New York. She also said that she did not ever want to reside in the suburbs.
Recently, McCord revealed that even the siblings of her husband ended up moving back to their small town in Australia after relocating from around the globe. "We're now five minutes from all of Simon's family. I'm so happy we're here," she said.
McCord appeared on "Real Housewives of New York" from 2008 to 2011.
