'Real Housewives of New York' Season 6: Ramona Singer on Family; 'I'm a Great Mom, Wife and Friend'

"Real Housewives of New York" star Ramona Singer recently spoke about finding balance in her life now that her daughter is in college and she opened up about her friendship dynamic with her co-star Sonja Morgan in an exclusive interview with The Christian Post.

In January, the Bravo TV star, 57, filed for divorce from her husband of 25 years, Mario, however, her marital woes will not be played out this season as the situation occurred after filming for season 6 wrapped up.

Viewers will, though, get to see other aspects of her family life in addition to the drama surrounding her friendship circles.

"I've kind of taken a step back a little. Since my daughter's gone to college I've worked on taking care of myself, I've been working out," Singer said of her daughter Avery adding "[I've] lost five pounds."

The Manhattan socialite is yet to reveal the details surrounding her separation from Mario, 60, but reports claim the estranged couple have not ruled out the possibility of a reconciliation.

"This is a personal and private matter for our family," Ramona said in a statement in January. "For my daughter Avery's sake, I would appreciate everyone respecting our privacy during this difficult time."

Singer's friendship dynamic with Morgan continues to draw interest from viewers. The pair, dubbed a modern day "Lucy and Ethel" by critics, are renowned for their playful antics and the reality star believes a part of what makes their friendship special on the show is that they are so different.

"We're definitely two opposites but the thing is there's a camaraderie there, a respect there and we definitely fight like sisters [but] we make up so quickly," she said.

"We accept each other for who we are and we embrace each other's weaknesses and strengths," she explained.

Singer is the last standing original "housewife" on the hit Bravo TV show. The fan favorite spoke about why she believes viewers continue to connect with her after five seasons.

"I'm genuine, I'm real and I really say what I think. Sometimes it does get me into trouble but the viewers respect my forthrightness, my honesty and my morals," Singer said. "[Viewers] know I'm a strong businesswoman with strong family values and moral values. They know I'm a great mom and a great wife and a great friend."

In addition to filming for reality TV and enjoying family life, Singer is an entrepreneur who manages various business ventures including her famous Ramona Pinot Grigio wine.

This season she and Morgan are joined by season 5 additions Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson and newcomer Kristen Taekman.

Season 6 airs Tuesdays at 9/8C on the Bravo TV network.
