And as the standings look at the moment, Madrid are safely through to the knockout stages as they currently have 13 points to lead the table.

In second are French club Paris Saint-Germain who have 10 points after five matches. Shakhtar Donetsk and Malmo FF are third and fourth respectively and both have three points so far in the competition.

With this, Malmo FF are effectively out of the race in the UEFA Champions League but can still participate in a European competition if they can qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

The group's third place team will move on to the second tier of the European competition but Malmo must end the UCL competition with more points than Shakhtar.

In order to do that, they should hope for a win against Madrid, while PSG must beat Shakhtar or at least settle for a draw.

If Malmo end up with a draw against Madrid, then PSG must beat Shakhtar to hand Malmo the third-place finish.

Given that Madrid are already in the competition, there is a big chance they will field in a weaker line-up to give their stars a chance to rest. This should be the best opportunity for Malmo to strike and surprise them with a result at the Bernabeu.

Even if they play Madrid's secondary, a result in the Bernabeu should be a big feather in their cap moving forward in their campaign.
