Rebel Wilson 'Not Looking Like Anyone Else Has Made it Easier for Me'

Actress Rebel Wilson has never let her weight hold her back or prevent her from going after roles that she wants. In a new interview, Wilson says that she hopes others can learn from her and learn to accept their bodies.

"I think most girls who are encouraged to come to LA and become actresses are usually the prettiest girls in their hometown of Iowa or wherever, so not looking like anyone else has made things easier for me, because I'm distinctive," Wilson told In Touch magazine.

The 27-year-old Australian actress has landed key roles in hit films such as "Bridesmaids" with Kristin Wiig and Maya Rudolph and "Pitch Perfect," where she played a character known as Fat Amy. It was recently announced that there will be a "Pitch Perfect 2," where Wilson will be able to reprise her role.

"There are so many glamorous actresses, but in the real world, nobody looks like that," Wilson said. "I want to inspire girls who don't think they're cool or pretty. To do that, I need to put out a realistic version of what it's like to be a girl who looks like me. Sometimes that means getting broken up with by a dude who says, 'You're too fat.' That way, when my character wins, it's gratifying."

Wilson currently stars on the new ABC comedy, "Super Fun Night," in which she plays a woman seeking to have a good night out after staying in with friends for many years. The role posed a risk for Wilson, whose character bared all in neon underwear on-screen. Yet Wilson was willing to do anything for the role, and her career, even if it meant showing a little skin.

There are rumors that Wilson may sign with Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers as a spokeswoman, but it's unlikely that she would lose a lot of weight, given that her career has been built partly on her size.

"Rebel would be doing this strictly for the money," a source told Radar Online. "She's built a comic persona out of being heavy and nobody in her world or at ABC is pressuring her to lose weight. It would only be for the cash and the exposure."
