'Red Dead Redemption 2' Rumored to Be Announced at E3

"Red Dead Redemption" fans may be in for a treat as a sequel to the open-world, western action-adventure video game may be announced soon. According to a report by Mobipicker, Rockstar and 2K Games' parent company Take-Two has revealed that it will be present at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year.

Although it's not known yet what they will be bringing in to the event, CEO Strauss Zelnick hinted that fans should be looking forward to the upcoming video game conference that is scheduled already to take place in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center. "We will be there in a big way," reveals Zelnick during an interview with MCV.

Zelnick did not divulge further details regarding the "big" thing they have prepared, but several fans are speculating on the possibility of an announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2" during the event. Videogamer reported that as of the moment, Take-Two has revealed only three games in their lineup, which include "Civilization Revolution 2 Plus," "Battleborn," and "Mafia 3." All three games are expected to be released later this year.

But since Take-Two is aiming to go big, adding the sequel of "Red Dead Redemption" is not far off. Simply launching one new title during E3 would not set up something "big" for a company like Take-Two.

It's also noted that the game was expected at the E3 2015. However, there was no announcement from Rockstar. There are rumors, though, of what the next game in the series might be. A report from WCCF Tech said that the new iteration in the "Red Dead Redemption" franchise will be called "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West." It is said to be a prequel to the first game that was released back in 2010.

It is also said that the game will have the same setting with three playable characters — Irish, Seth, and the player's created character. But since nothing is official or confirmed yet, it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt. Fans should stay tuned for more details.
