'Red Dead Redemption 2' Rumors: Will Wait for Sequel Last Longer Than Expected?
Currently announced release window for the sequel is spring 2018
"Red Dead Redemption 2" was originally supposed to come out this year, specifically during this fall season, to the delight of people all over the world.
Unfortunately, a 2017 launch was not meant to be for the sought-after sequel, and back in May, developers announced a new release window of spring 2018.
Since then, however, the sequel has hardly been in the headlines at all.
That in of itself is not too concerning. The developers may just be hard at work at the moment making sure they can deliver the game within that already announced release window.
Then again, this period of relative silence is still quite odd, particularly since developers indicated previously that more details about the sequel are coming out this year.
Going back to that earlier announcement, developers also shared at the time that they are "really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer." Well, summer is over and those details are nowhere to be seen.
Notably, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is included in a trailer that was shown during a recent PlayStation press conference in Japan, but it does not offer anything new.
It is certainly possible that the developers will come out with those new details this fall or perhaps sometime during the winter, but again, that is not guaranteed either.
The move from the fall 2017 release window to spring 2018 was necessary because the developers are "firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready," so maybe that is their policy too for sharing new details.
At this point, fans can only hope that all is well when it comes to the development of the sequel they want so badly to play. They should also cross their fingers that they will be able to get it once next spring rolls around.
More news about "Red Dead Redemption2" should be made available soon.
