Reese Witherspoon Celebrates 40th Birthday with Celebrity Friends and Family
One of Hollywood's "it" girls, Reese Witherspoon is turning 40 this coming Tuesday, but her big birthday bash was held over the weekend at the Warwick venue in Los Angeles. According to a Today report, her birthday was star-studded, with Reese's celebrity friends attending as well as her family.
Among Reese's celebrity friends who joined the celebration was fellow blonde actress, Kate Hudson, who also greeted the birthday girl with an Instagram photo collage of the bash and a very upfront hashtag - #NotWashingMyFace – posted on Sunday, the morning after the party.
According to a report in People, among the guests were Jennifer Aniston and husband Justin Theroux, Courtney Cox, Matthew McConaughey, Robert Downey Jr., Tobey Maguire, Nicole Kidman and her country rocker-husband Keith Urban. On hand also were Isla Fisher, Olivia Munn, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Camila Alves (McConaughey's wife), Chelsea Handler, according to the Daily Mail report.

Another party-goer, Vanity Fair's Derek Blasberg, posted an Instagram video of Reese singing her favorite country song "Sweet Home Alabama" with no less than Keith Urban on the guitar. One of the youngest attendees of the party, Taylor Swift, also took to the stage, according to a Daily Mail report. She sang "Shake It Off" for the birthday celebrant.
Reese's husband, Jim Toth, was present as well to celebrate with his wife. Her mother, Betty, was also in town for the weekend. In another Instagram post, Reese shared a short video of her mom nodding in agreement to her question if she was "gonna go crazy on the dance floor." The mother and daughter pair looked like they were on their way to the party.
The actress is better known for her role as Elle Woods in the "Legally Blonde" movie series. Aside from the acting career, she is also an active advocate for children's and women rights, working with organizations such as the Avon Foundation and the Children's Defense Fund.
