'Reign' Season 3 Episode 12 Spoilers: Mary Faced With A Difficult Decision

Fans of The CW's hit historical fantasy drama TV series "Reign" Season 3 has been right along to suspect that the introduction of the English court in the story could bring so much trouble. For one, there's the growing tension between Mary, the Queen of Scots and Elizabeth, the Queen of England.

Before the first half of the season ended, the show finally revealed that it was actually Christophe who was the person behind the mask. Moreover, followers of the show were introduced to Mary's newest enemy – the infamous Protestant reformer John Knox.

As if these issues aren't enough to crack the head of the young monarch, the spoiler reports for this week's upcoming episode 12 titled "No Way Out," indicates that Mary will once again be caught in a very difficult situation wherein she has to decide if she has to resort to murder to end her lifelong rivalry with Elizabeth.

The promo video, which can be seen below, offers glimpse on some of the intense developments that are about to take place in the upcoming segment.

The clip sees Mary confiding to Greer her plan of returning to Scotland one of these days. Greer is quite happy to have heard the queen's news. However, deep inside him he knows that if she pushes through with this plan, there will be some major political consequences. For one, this may anger Elizabeth knowing that Mary's return could mean losing her grip on her kingdom. Needless to say, Elizabeth won't allow her cousin to just head home and take what's hers without a fight.

Mary's camp fully knows that this would happen. In fact, they will advise Mary that the only way to claim back Scotland is to kill the one who currently takes hold of it. However, that's the last thing that this compassionate queen would do.

"There is always another choice," Mary said.

Check out the full episode synopsis from The Futon Critic which reads:

"Mary (Adelaide Kane) might have to sacrifice her cousin's life to save her own, as she and Gideon (Ben Geurens) find themselves in unchartered emotional territory. Catherine's (Megan Follows) past returns to haunt her, while Lola (Anna Popplewell) and Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) become unlikely allies."
