'Reign' Season 3 Episode 4 Recap: Mary's Life in Exchange for Francis' Life?
The previous episode of hit series "Reign" saw Mary trying her best to save Francis' life while ruling the rest of the kingdom.
The previous episode was titled "The Price," which showed just how far Mary, played by Adelaide Kane, was willing to go to save her husband's life. Mary was seen ordering her men to search for a cure and a healer to help Francis, played by Toby Regbo.
However, her life was also put in danger because of it. It was reported that a witch had the potential to help Francis overcome the sickness. Unfortunately, they had to pay a big price for it. With that, there is a possibility that Mary's life will be taken in exchange for Francis, if the witch were to help them.
Meanwhile, Mary also had to deal with her responsibilities and duties as a queen as well. It was revealed that she will be reminded of the future of Scotland after her mother, played by Amy Brenneman, sends her a message.

Even though Francis is in a sick state, the episode saw Mary consulting Francis about what to do regarding the situation in Scotland. With that, it is evident that Mary will have to make more big decision in the episodes to come.
Francis' death will also have Narcisse, played by Craig Parker, trying to push his power due to his relationship with Catherine, played by Megan Follows. According to Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner of the series, Laurie McCarthy, shared some details about the change in power in the episodes to come.
She said, "Francis' death shifts the power dynamic at court between Narcisse and Catherine. There's going to be a huge battle for the regency coming up and a blossoming relationship between Catherine and Narcisse, because his ambition is going to be awakened again."
