'Reign' Season 3 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Francis' Death?

With the return of hit series "Reign" soon approaching, it was reported that Queen Mary and King Francis will be getting some help in the upcoming season.

According to TV Line, Lord Narcisse, played by Craig Parker, will be helping Mary and Francis for the third season of "Reign." Lord Narcisse was usually portrayed as the villain in the series. However, the upcoming season will see him as an ally, showing his help when enemies are against France.

It was reported that their enemies will not be the only challenge that Mary and Francis will go through in the season to come. The showrunner of the series, Laurie McCarthy, recently shared news about Francis' health. The previous seasons have seen Francis' illness. However, the upcoming season is expected to face his illness head-on.

McCarthy said, "We're now dramatizing a health crisis for him. Francis, unlike the previous seasons, is going to move forward believing that his death may be imminent and he will make decisions accordingly."
Despite his situation, the upcoming season will see the couple happy and spending the time they have together. It was still not confirmed whether the season will see Francis' death.

Meanwhile, there were reports that revealed details about the third episode of the upcoming season. Titled "Extreme Measures," the episode will see Francis still in good health and able to tend to his responsibilities.

The synopsis for the episode reads, "When King Antoine (guest star Ben Aldridge) unexpectedly returns to Court, Mary (Adelaide Kane) must help Francis (Toby Regbo) hide his weakening condition long enough to secure his family's future. With the Throne in jeopardy and time running out, they must turn to an unlikely ally in need of redemption."

Season 3 of "Reign" will premiere this Oct. 9.
