'Resident Evil 7' Rumors: Game to Feature VR Technology?

With the massive success of the "Resident Evil" franchise, it is only reasonable that a movie based on the franchise titled "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is in the works and is already promising to be a hit, as fans continue to shower images released by actress Milla Jovovich on her Instagram account with praise.

While the movie is a hot topic among fans, the gaming world just might get all the more crazy as a new report suggests that the seventh installment of the game will sport technology beyond what is offered today: virtual reality (VR).

According to Game Rant, the Development Division 1 team, the same team responsible for bringing the zombie world into computers and gaming consoles, is now working on a possible way to get virtual reality into the traditional gaming system.

The report noted that CapCom has not confirmed if "Resident Evil" is one of the projects involved in the development of VR technology, and it is definitely not impossible if "Resident Evil 7" comes as a VR game.

The outlet further explained that one good reason why "Resident 7" could possibly be released with VR technology is how CapCom somehow slipped that the team is working on a VR horror game.

CapCom reportedly said, "At present, we are focusing our energy on challenging the virtual reality (VR) game market. In this terrifying world, you can twist and turn as you like, but there's no escaping the creatures closing in on you...until you remove your VR headset and return to reality, that is."

Another reason that makes "Resident Evil" the perfect match for developing VR technology for gaming consoles is because the franchise is already tried and tested and will most likely slam risks involved with the development of technology that is not yet available to the gaming community at this time.

On the other hand, CapCom might also choose to use "Resident Evil 2" remake for developing VR tech, aside from the seventh installment, but either way, the idea of being in the same world as zombies are in will surely excite gamers across the globe.
