'Resident Evil: Revelations' Getting New-Gen Release on PS4, Xbox One

PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One will get to play a version of "Resident Evil: Revelations" on their consoles later this year. The official Twitter account of "Resident Evil" has just announced that Capcom is set to release physical and digital copies of the game in the Fall of 2017.

"Resident Evil: Revelations," which was released about five years ago, in 2012, for the Nintendo 3DS, will be making its way to some of the current generation of gaming consoles, according to a brief write-up by GameSpot. Capcom has just announced on March 13, through its official "Resident Evil" Twitter account, that the game will be coming out with versions for new platforms this Fall of 2017.

The tweet from the company currently lists the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One as the current-gen platforms on which the game will be made available. Capcom further added that the release will come with a physical copy along with a digital download version for the North America and Europe releases. The announcement promises to bring more updates in the near future.

PS4 and Xbox One will be joining a growing list of console platforms that have played host to "Resident Evil: Revelations" at one point. In the last generation of platforms, the game was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and the PC about four years ago, in 2013.

This new round of releases could be related to the overall success of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," as the article from Digital Trends noted. Capcom's January release of the latest installment of the "Resident Evil" franchise has been seen as a return to form for the horror series, which reignited the fans' demand for more "Resident Evil" games.
