Rielle Hunter, John Edwards Split: Hunter Calls Late Wife 'Witch on Wheels'

Rielle Hunter has stated that she and former Senator John Edwards are no longer a couple.

Despite the fact that John Edwards has thrown away his political career and risked his good reputation on money scandals all for the sake of love, the love is no more. Rielle Hunter stated Tuesday that she and Edwards are no longer a couple just in time for her tell-all book release.

Hunter, 48, revealed on "Good Morning America" the she and Edwards have decided to go their own ways, although they plan keeping an amicable relationship for the sake of their now 4-year-old daughter.

"We are a family, but as of the end of last week, John Edwards and I are no longer a couple," Hunter said. "Not at all."

The statement came well timed as Hunter appeared on the morning show to speak about her new book "What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me."

According to Hunter, however, the decision came after she decided that she was tired of always hiding. Edwards lied about his relationship with Hunter and the child they had together while he attempted to run for presidential elections four years ago. His wife, Elizabeth Edwards, was also sick in the hospital and dying of cancer.

Elizabeth passed in 2010. Edwards was later charged in court with seeking over $900,000 in campaign support to hide his affair and his love child.

"For me, for my part in it, it's because I'm no longer interested in hiding," Hunter said. "Hiding our relationship. Hiding. Not living out in the- we've had a lot of media scrutiny … it's complicated and it's hard and it wears you down after a while."

Hunter has also been an object of scorn for many. As the "other woman," she is charged with wrecking Edwards marriage. Hunter, though, claims that it was Elizabeth who was at fault, referring to her as a "witch on wheels" in the book.
