Rihanna Debuts New Artsy and Edgy Album Art in a Private Event
Rihanna revealed the album art cover for her eighth album last Oct. 7 in a private viewing in Los Angeles, California.
The 27-year-old singer's fans have been waiting for her new album, which is previously rumored to be entitled "R8," according to Hollywood Life.
Rihanna revealed the album cover at the Mama Gallery in Los Angeles, during a private gathering, where the singer's 5-year-old self is seen wearing a crown that covers her eyes, while holding a balloon. The whole album cover is filled with braille, and attendees are invited to feel a poetry in Braille that was embedded into the images. "The people who have sight are the most blind," the RnB singer explained when asked about the concept of adding Braille to the images.

The cover was created by artist Roy Nachum, and the artist made Rihanna's "first day at day care" photo into an artsy and edgy album art. Nachum's art is a favorite among celebrities like Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. The "Bitch Better Have My Money" singer said that she is drawn to Nachum's work since the artist "sees things beyond the surface," according to US Magazine. "After we met, we talked about what I wanted visually, what would make me the happiest girl in the world," Rihanna added.
According to the Rolling Stone, the singer's upcoming album will be entitled "Anti," and not "R8." Rihanna did not provide any further details about "Anti," the songs included, and the album's release date. Although, fans are curious whether the previous songs she recorded, like the songs she recorded for the movie "Home," will be added to the new album.
On the other hand, other artists that have guested on the event are Nick Jonas, Holly Robinson Peete, and Ice Cube's son O'Shea Jackson Jr.
