The Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony will feature live performances from Brazilian talents, models and political figures. Pele will light the Olympic flame.
Eleven days are left till the Summer Olympics in Rio, and aside from news concerning participating athletes and the venue for the games, fans and followers are looking forward to the performers who will be featured at the opening ceremony on Aug. 5, 2016.
Brazil's Finest Performers
Audience from all over the world will be able to watch Brazil's finest singers such as Gilberto Gil, known for his talent as a singer and guitarist, musical innovation and political ideals; Caetano Veloso, a very talented singer, song writer, guitarist and political activistl Brazilian sambista, singer and songwriter Paulinho da Viola; popular samba, funk and rock musician Jorge Ben Jor; and Brazilian actor and singer Luiz Melodia.
The Typical Brazilian Woman
Brazilian fashion model, producer and actress Gisele Bundchen is said to star in the "sexiest" Olympics opening ceremony ever. Bundchen will also represent the Girl of Ipanema or the "typical Brazilian woman." She will stand for all the gorgeous women that Brazil is typically famous for. Giselle will enter the Maracana stadium to the tune of the popular bossa nova jazz song played by Paolo Jobin.
NBC, who will cover the Rio 2016 Olympics for American viewers, announced that its featuring Brazilian supermodels such as Adriana and Alessandra Ambrosio in its coverage. These gorgeous women will be doing the coverage with Ryan Seacrest.
It is also expected that the Rio opening ceremony would be the most glamorous of all, with hundreds of sexy and beautiful scantily clad women participating in the ceremony in the stadium. Gisele Bundchen was interviewed by The Mail, and she commented excitedly about her participation as well as the expectation for some edgy moments during the event. "There will be lots of nearly naked women doing the samba."
The costumes have been designed to show off as much flesh as possible, which means as little material as they can get away with." She added, "This is Brazil, after all, where the female body is celebrated like no other place on Earth."
Pele to Light the Olympic Flame
The greatest footballer of all time will light the Olympic flame in front of an estimated global audience of a billion people. Pele even tweeted his excitement a week ago saying: "I am proud to present my new song "Esperaca" dedicated to my country, Brazil. Enjoy!" @Pele

NBC will provide live streaming of the Rio 2016 Olympics Opening Ceremony on August 5 via their official site http://www.nbcolympics.com while a one-hour delayed telecast of the event will be at around 7 p.m. Eastern time. The ceremony will also be seen in Spanish via TELEMUNDO while cable channels Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, NBC UNIVERSO, USA Network and other sports specialty channels will also provide special broadcasts.
