'Rise Of The Tomb Raider' DLC News: 'Baba Yaga' DLC Arriving January 26
The second installment of the reboot of the "Tomb Raider" game series, "Rise of the Tomb Raider," is getting additional downloadable content this January 26. The DLC called "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" is a story expansion of the game, according to a report in GameSpot.
Microsoft described the DLC as new content that will provide the player with "hours" of gameplay as the game's main protagonist, Lara, is exploring a new tomb and, at the same time, battling her enemies along the way. The official description of the DLC says: "This adventure expands the story of the main campaign with Lara facing deadly new adversaries, exploring a new puzzle-filled tomb, and solving a decades old mystery, all culminating in a showdown with an ancient and mythic evil." The expansion will also bring a new weapon, which is a new bow, as well as a new outfit for Lara.
According to the announcement, the expansion will be arriving on the current generation console, the Xbox One. Microsoft was mum about whether it will be arriving on the Xbox 360 as well. With the PC version of the game dropping on January 28, fans are also wondering if the expansion will be part of the PC version as well.
A trailer for the new DLC was also released, showing off new enemies that Lara has to fight, and new challenges she must go through as she explores the new tomb. She makes use of her new bow in the trailer.
According to the report, the "Temple of the Witch" DLC is part of the game's $30 DLC or season pass. Microsoft has not yet revealed how much it will cost on its own.
This is the second DLC received by the game, the first one being "Endurance Mode" which was released at the end of 2015. A third DLC called "Cold Darkness Awakened" is expected to come out later in the year.
