'Riverdale' Season 1 Episode 4 Spoilers: Miss Grundy's False Identity Revealed; Did She Kill Jason Blossom?
The upcoming episode of "Riverdale" season 1 promises more drama as Miss Grundy (Sarah Habel) is revealed to be operating under a false identity.
The synopsis for the new episode, titled "The Last Picture Show," states that Betty (Lili Reinhart) will act as a super sleuth and discovers that Miss Grundy is not all whom she appears to be. In fact, her whole identity is fake. This will cause some tension between her and Archie (K.J. Apa), though their friendship is already on thin ice.
Meanwhile, Alice (Madchen Amick) will be busy uncovering something else from Betty's diary, and using that information, she will plot to taint Archie's "golden boy image." Hermione (Marisol Nichols) will also draw some suspicion from her daughter, Veronica (Camila Mendes), after the latter saw the former meeting with a shadowy Southside Serpent. Veronica will have no choice but to confront her mother on the matter.
Elsewhere, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) will fight to save the local drive-in after an unknown buyer threatens to demolish it.
A teaser trailer for the next episode has also been released. It starts off with Miss Grundy playing the cello in front of a crowd as Archie and his father admire her talent. However, beneath the blonde hair and seemingly innocent smile is a dark secret.
"Everything about her is a huge question mark," Betty says of Miss Grundy.
It is then revealed that the real Geraldine Grundy already passed away years prior, and a shot of the fake Miss Grundy's driver's license is seen. The license reveals that her name is actually Jennifer Gibson from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Betty and Veronica's snooping eventually leads to them finding a gun in Miss Grundy's car, possibly tying her to the death of Jason Blossom. The final scene in the clip sees Archie confronting Miss Grundy - or Jennifer Gibson - about her real identity and intentions.
"Riverdale" season 1 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
