'Riverdale' Season 2 Episode 2 Spoilers: Betty Tries To Save Pop's From Doom

Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) will be the girl on a mission in the next episode of "Riverdale" season 2.

According to the synopsis for the episode titled "Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks," Betty found out that Riverdale's iconic diner Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe might be in danger of being closed forever after the alleged burglary incident where Archie Andrews' (KJ Apa) father Fred (Luke Perry) had been shot. This will make her lead an effort to save the diner with the help of her friends.

The trailer showed that Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) and her band called Josie and the Pussycats will hold a performance at Pop's to attract customers to visit the diner.

The synopsis also revealed that the gang will also worry about Archie's strange behavior after the crime that almost took his father's life. This could mean that Archie could be dealing with a terrible trauma.

It was also reported that Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) will do anything to look for a new lawyer for his father FP (Skeet Ulrich). However, this could result in a very serious consequence. On the other hand, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) will find herself at a turning point with her parents Hermione (Marisol Nichols) and Hiram (Mark Consuelos).

The second episode of "Riverdale" season 2 is slated to air on The CW on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. EDT.

In another news, a fan theory claimed that the person who shot Fred at Pop's and possibly the same one who is responsible for the murder of Miss Grundy (Sarah Habel) in the final moments of the premiere episode could be "The Black Hood" character that was introduced in the Archie Comics series.

According to a post on Reddit, the mask used by the killer appeared to be the same as the mask used in the comics, particularly the diamond-shaped holes that can be found in his hood.

"Maybe the black mask had been turned into just another criminal but I think that he's still a vigilante. Grundy obviously isn't a good person and I'm pretty sure that Fred had done something in his past worth the black mask's time Anyway, this is just something I thought up fifteen minutes ago so take it with a grain of salt," the Redditor stated.
