'Riverdale' Season 2 Spoilers Updates: Will Jughead Reunite With FP and Betty Next Season?
Jughead (Cole Sprouse) will deal with a lot of stuff in "Riverdale" season 2, particularly with his incarcerated father and his complicated relationship with Betty (Lili Reinhart).
In season 1, Jughead's father FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) had been placed behind bars for being an accessory to the death of Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines). But executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told TV Guide that his case will be dealt with in the show's upcoming season.
"That's something that we're going to address [this season]. Is FP going away for a long time for being an accessory? Is there a way they can get them out of that?" the executive producer stated.

The publication also noted that since Ulrich has been promoted to a series regular status next season, it could mean that FP's case will be discussed in the early part of the season. It could also mean that he and Jughead will be reunited sooner than later.
But if his problems at home could soon be over, Jughead's romantic relationship with Betty might be in trouble next season.
In a statement that was published in TVLine, Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that things are not looking good for the couple. "It's almost like every force in the universe is out to pry Bughead apart," he stated.
The executive producer also mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that a new bisexual character named Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) will arrive in Southside next season. She will reportedly cause a problem with Jughead and Betty's relationship since Jug will try to explore his own sexuality.
The budding relationship between Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) will also be tested next season. "There are going to be problems coming in multiple different directions, besieging both of our couples," the executive producer also stated.
The CW will release the new episodes of "Riverdale" season 2 on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m. EDT.
