'Rizzoli & Isles' Season 5 Spoilers: 'This is My Favorite Season,' Star Angie Harmon Says (TRAILER VIDEO)
"Rizzoli & Isles" season 5 will premiere on Tuesday, June 17, with a bittersweet opening and final farewell to co-star Lee Thompson Young. But there are plenty of other storylines to keep viewers interested for one more season and plenty of adventures with Jane and Maura.
"This season is by far my favorite," lead actress Angie Harmon, who plays Detective Jane Rizzoli, told TV Guide. "What I love about season 5 is that it's not just about Jane and Maura."
While it's true that Jane Rizzoli will have to deal with a possible pregnancy, there is still more in store for the other characters. As fans remember, Dr. Maura Isles, played by Sasha Alexander, kissed Jane's brother, Frankie during the season 4 finale. Will this lead to a relationship between the two? There's been palpable heat and chemistry between the two characters throughout the season … maybe this is finally the time they get together.

And actress Lorraine Bracco, who plays Angela Rizzoli, the mother of the crew, has a renewed "zest for life" and will be setting out on her own adventures. Plus, she is in a serious relationship with Jane's boss – where could that lead? Anything is possible, it seems, for the new Angela.
One thing that fans will be certainly not wanting, but waiting, to see is how the show will pay tribute to fallen co-star Lee Thompson Young, who committed suicide earlier this year. His death will not be addressed until the last few minutes of the first episode, when Jane and Maura learn that he has been in a car accident. The second episode will be the main tribute to Young, who played Detective Frost.
Frost's death will hit the team hard, especially Detective Vince Korsak, played by Bruce McGill. Korsak was like a father and mentor to the younger Frost. Frost was the youngest one on the team, and his loss will certainly be felt by fans and those he worked with.
"Rizzoli & Isles" airs Tuesday nights on TNT.
