Rob Kardashian Diagnosed with Diabetes after Hospitalization

Rob Kardashian was not feeling well recently and was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday with a diagnosis of diabetes.

It has been almost two years since Rob Kardashian, 28, started spending his life away from the public eye gaining a lot of weight. On Tuesday, the youngest Kardashian family member was admitted to the hospital where he was diagnosed with diabetes and prescribed with medicine to lower his blood sugar level, according to People.

"Rob had stomach problems over the weekend and didn't feel well. He was at the hospital briefly," an unnamed source told People. "He has to take medicine now to control his blood sugar level."

The source also said Kardashian was advised to consult with a dietician and revise his lifestyle and eating habits. The doctor warned that continuing with his present lifestyle could have detrimental effects on his body, the report relays.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the only male Kardashian sibling has been struggling with depression, low-self esteem, and weight problem. The problems started in 2011 when he became a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars." New Zealand Herald says he was considering getting a gastric bypass to lose weight faster.

Kardashian has since avoided the cameras and has used Instagram as his only window to the public, even going as far as not attending his sister Kim's wedding and other family events. An insider said the family has been trying to help him through various interventions, but none has been successful so far, the report details.

Even his sister Khloe is starting to get exasperated with his issues. In an interview with People in October, the reality star shared that she can only do so much for her brother.

"I've been working on my patience … But I have my moments and I do snap. I've offered to get a chef, I'm like, 'What's your excuse?'" Khoe told People. "But it's not just that. I can't win life for Rob. I have to wait until [he's] ready to do it for himself."

TMZ says Rob Kardashian's recent admission to the hospital and diagnosis of diabetes should serve as a wake-up call for him to focus more on his health in the coming year.
