Robert Downey Jr. Shares Plans For Marvel

Robert Downey Jr. shared some interesting information about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, revealing his involvement in the upcoming projects of the franchise.

After years of playing the iconic comic book superhero Iron Man, it seems as though Robert Downey Jr. is ready to take a behind the scenes role in the Marvel franchise. The actor recently spoke to The Jakarta Post about what he wants to do in the upcoming installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He said, "I know I want to direct. While I still have a little bit of juice or cred, I'd love to do that. For me, I don't want to say [I'll] reinvent myself. But I will start taking on more."

However, he did not share if he had any specific plans about what film he is planning to direct, or if there is currently any plans in line for it. Downey Jr. did say that he still has at least two more Marvel films in store.
In fact, one of the films Robert Downey Jr. is expected to take part in is the upcoming reboot of "Spider-Man."

According to Hollywood Reporter, Downey Jr. will be joining Tom Holland in the new film called "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Downey Jr. will be joined by other stars such as Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, and Laura Harrier in the reboot.

The source stated that "Spider-Man: Homecoming" will show fans the relationship between the two Marvel heroes. However, fans will first see their bond in the upcoming film "Captain America: Civil War."

Aside from his role in the upcoming reboot, Downey Jr. explained that he also has plans to take part in another installment of "Sherlock." He previously took on the role of Sherlock Holmes in the film adaptation of the classic story. In the mean time, there has yet to be any news regarding when the movie will be released.
