'Robomasters: The Animated Series' Air Date, Spoilers: Real-Life Engineering Competition Gets Adapted Into Anime
Reality becomes animated in the upcoming Japanese anime series, "Robomasters: The Animated Series."
The series is being produced by the Dandelion Animation Studio and is based on a real-life competition known as "ROBOMASTERS," wherein various engineering students compete in order to see who can build the best remote-controlled robot.
The anime adaptation takes the same route as it follows the life of a freshman university student named Tantan, whose main goal is to create the perfect aerial drone on his own sans any assistance from anyone. However, a chance encounter will change his mind and turn him into a more open-minded inventor, especially when it comes to his design philosophy.
It is through this encounter and the eventual change it brings to Tantan's character that he and his new friends ultimately find the passion to gear up and join the annual "ROBOMASTERS" engineering competition.
Will they be able to work together to create the best remote-controlled robot, or will their different personalities as well as their old ways cause them unforeseen conflicts along the way? What kind of rivals will they encounter in the said contest, and how will they deal and subsequently grow from every challenge that will happen to come their way?
The series is a Japanese–Chinese co-production and is directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto with the animation done by Dandelion Animation Studio LLC and Gonzo. The opening theme titled "super nova" is featured in a teaser trailer for the upcoming series and is performed by UN:C. Both the opening and the ending themes also come in Chinese versions.
"Robomasters: The Animated Series" premieres on Friday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 p.m. JST on WOWOW. It will also air with two-consecutive-episode broadcasts on Animax starting on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 10:30 p.m. JST.
