'Rocket League' Autumn Update to Roll Out on Sept. 28

"Rocket League" goes all-in for the harvest season with their new Autumn Update, bringing fresh cars, collectibles, arenas and more to the sports game. This patch comes out on Thursday, Sep. 28.

Psyonix has laid out all the details of their fall update with a new web page, and there's plenty of new content ripe for the picking. The team behind the sports/driving game has added a new seasonal arena just for this fall, called the Farmstead, and it will be around for a limited time.

The new map calls for players to "disturb the tranquility of a rural farm during harvest time," with rocket-powered Competitive, Casual and Private matches, at least until a new update takes this rustic arena away.

Previous maps with unusual layouts will also become available in the shape of the default arena, as standard versions of Wasteland and Starbase Arc. The Autumn Update also adds variants to existing favorites, adding Champions Filed (Day), Mannfield (Snowy) and DHS Stadium (Day) to the current playlist of arenas.

Player banners have also been added to the game, with players having more than 90 customization choices available for them for free, starting Sep. 28. These rewards are classified as Uncommon, Rare, and Very Rare, and they will pop up accordingly after an online match ends, according to Gamespot.

Psyonix has acted on feedback from their fans and added Local Area Network (LAN) multiplayer support for the PC version of "Rocket League." PC players will also get access to the beta of the Party and Tournament systems before the end of this month.

Goalposts are now transparent, too, fixing a common complaint from defenders who got blindsided from the previously opaque walls of the target. Of course, new Battlecars and car modifications are also coming with this update.

The video below shows the new arenas, battle cars and customization options being brought to "Rocket League" by their Autumn Update, which is coming to the game in late September.
