'Rocket League' DLC: Players Can Get 'Portal'-Themed Items From Dec. 1
Good news for "Rocket League" players who are also fans of Valve Software's "Portal." Psyonix has announced players will get a chance to get "Portal"-themed items starting Dec. 1.
The announcement, made on Nov. 28, details the partnership by saying officially licensed "Portal" customization items will be up for grabs for "Rocket League" players for free.
The "Portal" DLC includes one topper, three rocket trails, and five antennas as follows:
Cake (Topper)
Conversion Gel (Rocket Trail)
Propulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
Repulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
Aperture Laboratories (Antenna)
Cake Sticker (Antenna)
Companion Cube (Antenna)
Personality Core (Antenna)
PotatOS (Antenna)
These items are rewarded at the end of every match. So to get these "Portal" goodies, all players have to do is keep playing in matches. It doesn't even matter if they win or lose, as long as they finish a full game, players have a chance to earn these new customization items.
"Obtainable by playing a full game of Rocket League, the official Portal items are potentially rewarded at the end of every match, win or lose," the developer revealed. "All you have to do is keep playing until the match ends and your chance to earn a new Aperture-themed goodie of your very own."
"Portal" is a single-player puzzle game released by Valve in 2007. The game was initially released as a bundle to "The Orange Box," but in 2008, a stand-alone game, "Portal: Still Alive" came out.
Psyonix has also previously announced two other DLCs for "Rocket League." The Mad Max-like Chaos Run DLC is available on the same day as the "Portal" DLC. Meanwhile, players can start playing the new Snow Day mode on Dec. 14, while Winter Games items will be available from Dec. 14 to Jan. 4.
The free "Portal" DLC will be available on the PC and PS4.
