Roku News Update: Hulu TV Service Makes Its Way to Device
Hulu's live stream programs are now coming to some Roku devices, now dressed in its redesigned layout. The Roku is just one of Hulu's stops as it launches on a variety of platforms, becoming one of the last devices adopting the new TV service.
Roku announced via a news update on Tuesday, Sep. 19, the launch of its new experience and Live TV service on a limited range of devices, to start. The Live TV part of Hulu's service is currently in beta, and it will be coming first to the Roku Ultra, and both Roku Premiere and Premiere+ models.
The first Hulu service on Roku is also coming to the Roku Express and Express+, as well as to the Roku Streaming Stick. Older devices like the Roku 3 and Roku 4 are supported too, as well as Roku TVs.
Support for even more Roku devices is expected to come in the near future, as Hulu solidifies its launch on the device. The Roku is one of the last devices to be covered by Hulu in its launch tour, according to The Verge.
Hulu's TV service, along with its revamped look, is now available in varying extents across a wide range of platforms including Apple TV, Xbox One, and even the older Xbox 360. It supports Chromecast, Amazon's Fire TV and Fire Stick as well, along with the requisite iOS and Android versions.
Hulu's Live TV service lets Roku owners stream all the TV shows they want in one comprehensive interface, as detailed on their channel page. Hulu plans start at $8 monthly, with an option for Live TV starting at $40 a month.
Hulu's Live TV on Roku gives access to more than 50 Live and On Demand channels on top of TV shows already in the streaming library, with an option to add networks like HBO and Showtime to the mix, as shown in the video below.
