Ronda Rousey News: 'Rowdy' Says She Was 'Embarrassed' After UFC 193, Stresses 'Need' To Beat Holly Holm Upon Return

For the first time since her shocking loss to newly minted UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey has broken her silence about her current physical and emotional state, as well as her immediate future plans.

Rousey was knocked out by Holm during the second round of their main event fight at UFC 193 in mid-November, marking the first loss in her professional mixed martial arts career. She did release a short Instagram post, where she expressed her desire to come back and said that she is doing "fine".

After almost a month since her career-shaking moment, "Rowdy" finally spoke further about her current condition. In a full-length interview with ESPN The Magazine, the woman who was once deemed as the "most dominant athlete alive" first promised to comeback with a vengeance.

"I need to come back," Rousey promised in the interview. "I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I'm going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open. I have to f****** do it."

Rousey's loss to Holm at UFC 193 was the first one she experienced since her days as an active judo competitor. Since venturing into mixed martial arts in 2011, she was able to rack up victory after victory, and all of which ended via her signature armbar submission.

Her career further skyrocketed when she was officially signed by the UFC. Since her debut in 2013, Rousey had defended her belt a total of six times. In her last three fights prior to facing Holm, she had ended things within the first minute of the first round.

Throughout those contests, her total fight time lasted a mere one minute and 34 seconds. These accomplishments made Rousey enjoy the global superstar status she had rightfully received. But after her loss to Holm, the 28-year old fighter felt one predominant emotion.

"I just feel so embarrassed," Rousey lamented. "How I fought after that is such an embarrassing representation of myself. I wasn't even f****** there."
