Ronda Rousey News: UFC President Dana White explains hatred against 'Rowdy'

UFC president Dana White and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier recently offered their opinions on the Ronda Rousey situation.

In a recent interview with TMZ, company executive Dana White explained why he thinks the former UFC bantamweight champion received so much flak from fans and some notable celebrity figures after Holly Holm dealt her with her first career loss.

"First of all, she didn't touch gloves with Holly on Saturday, which I'm sure is a big part of it," White explained. "But the stuff on social media and the things I've seen, they're just dirty, horrible people that just love to come out and be nasty and be negative. And with social media, even idiots can have opinions, too."

White also believes that Rousey, in no way, underestimated Holm. Rather, she simply did not believe that she would be experiencing defeat in MMA.

"Ronda doesn't underestimate anybody," White said. "Ronda trained hard for this fight and Ronda went to Melbourne two weeks ahead of time to acclimate over there."

"She's a really strong person," he adds. "But she's a fierce competitor and losing is not even in her vocabulary, never crosses her mind. In no way, shape or form did she think she was gonna lose that fight."

For UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, on the other hand, it would take a while before Rousey would be able to take care of the holes in her game that need fixing.

"Going forward, they're talking about an immediate rematch for Ronda Rousey," Cormier said in a report by FOX Sports. "The improvements that she will need to make, will take much longer than the six-month break that she's anticipating, or whatever. She needs a year or so."

Rousey herself says she would want to "disappear" for a while after UFC 193, targeting July 2016's UFC 200 as the date of her return to competition.
