Ronda Rousey UFC News 2015: To Star in Her Own Biopic

UFC Champ Ronda Rousey will soon be featured in a movie based on her own autobiography, "My Fight/Your Fight," starring as herself.

Paramount Pictures has just acquired the film rights to MMA fighter Ronda Rousey's autobiography, "My Fight/Your Fight," and will recreate the story of her life on the big screen with Rousey in the lead role.

The undefeated UFC Bantamweight fighter recently cleaned the Octagon floor with her latest knocked out opponent, Bethe Correia after a 34-second fight in Brazil Saturday, and the upcoming movie project is set to bring her closer to home.

"My Fight/Your Fight," the New York Times bestselling autobiography written by Rousey together with her sister, Maria Burns Ortiz, is an inspirational novel celebrating her accomplishments and the difficult challenges the MMA fighter has faced on the way to the top of her career.

It is considered rare for a biopic's subject to star in the movie of their lives as themselves, and Rousey has become one of those exceptions, along with Eminem, who featured in "8 Mile," a film based loosely on his life.

Paramount has yet to announce when the movie is scheduled to begin production, but has released news that Mark Bomback, who wrote "War of the Planet of the Apes," and "The Divergent Series: Insurgent," will be adapting the book into a screenplay.

Rousey's lookalike younger sister, Julia is also been rumored to be playing the younger MMA fighter at the start of her career.

After having switching from the Octagon to make various film appearances in "Expendables 3," "Furious 7" and "Entourage," as well as major endorsement contracts with DraftKings, Reebok, and Buffalo Jeans, Rousey's brand has continued to expand within the last few years.

Despite her New York Times bestseller and film deals however, Rousey has not expressed any interest in quitting her day job, and is currently training in preparation for her fight with UFC bantamweight mixed martial artist Miesha Tate later in the year.
