'Rosewood' episode 2 spoilers and pilot recap: Meet Doctor Rosewood
In the upcoming episode of "Rosewood" entitled "Fireflies and Fidelity," the official synopsis reads, a shocking piece of evidence surfaces during the investigation of a serious crime involving a wealthy Miami man. Meanwhile, Rosewood's romantic pursuits clash with his mother's demands; and Villa encounters trouble on the job.
The premise of the series is something that has been seen before on television. However, its pilot was interesting enough and its lead stars have great chemistry. The series was considered very light and airy for a drama, and some viewers believe that it is intentional because the show airs right before "Empire," which is filled with heavier drama. The series is filled with typical procedural tropes that are always seen on television.
The pilot episode began with a view of the beautiful Miami scenery where the viewers meet Doctor Rosewood, who was lying on the beach. He looked up at the sky and he saw the choppers that indicated that a crime was happening.
At the crime scene, he deduced that it was not a murder and he charmed his way past the yellow tape. He looked at the body and decided that it was a suicide based on the victim's chapped lips and yellowed eyes possibly due to a terminal illness like cancer.
The scene then panned to a billboard behind the crime scene, which advertised the services of Doctor Rosewood, and then the viewers were introduced to his family. His sister Pippy and his mother Donna brought in the case of the week, which was to reexamine an autopsy of a woman named Nora Grayson. Nora was his mother's former student.
The viewers met Detective Annalise Villa, the partner of Doctor Rosewood, and throughout the hour, they chased down leads and suspects. They eventually solved the case, which made Donna very happy because she got justice for her former student.
"Rosewood" airs every Wednesday on Fox.
