Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Split Rumors: Reports Claim Couple Headed for a Breakup
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes welcomed their daughter Esmeralda Amada three months ago, but it seems like the new parents are headed for a split as reported on Monday that the couple has been living separate lives recently.
The magazine claims that the 40-year old actress has been struggling at home with the baby while the 34-year old actor has been busy filming for his new movie, "The Nice Guys" for extended periods in Georgia.
A source told OK! Magazine, "It's more than just run-of-the-mill stress that comes with having a newborn. They're barely talking." Mendes reportedly refused to fly to Atlanta with their baby daughter to spend time with Gosling.
"So instead of coming home every night to them, he's jetting back and forth just so he can see his daughter," the source added.
The couple started dating in 2011 after working on "A Place Beyond the Pines," and they welcomed baby Esmeralda on Sept. 12. Gosling and Mendes kept a very low profile during the pregnancy and haven't been photographed together in public for over a year.
Mendes has only been seen out and about once since the birth in November, and there are rumors that Gosling is worried about her becoming a recluse.
An insider told OK!: "The last time Ryan was in LA, he told her that she and Esmeralda needed to go outside for some fresh air, but she just wouldn't listen."
If the couple breaks up, it is claimed that Mendes will fight for full custody, and the insider adds, "Eva has been the primary, hands-on parent with Ryan away working so much, so she believes full custody is warranted."
Mendes and Gosling have yet to comment on the breakup rumors as of the moment.
