'Saiyuki Reload Blast' Episode 12 Spoilers: Intense Nataku vs Sanzo Party Battle to Cap-off Upcoming Final Episode?

"Saiyuki Reload Blast" is about to air its 12th and final episode, but the series does not seem to be nearing an end in sight. Will the Sanzo Party somehow find a way to bring the war god, Nataku down, or are the untainted demons in Sharak's care done for good?

The previous episode saw Nataku descending once again from the skies towards the village of untainted demons that have been under Sharak's care all this time. They are a pretty peaceful group of villagers who have managed to hold on to their sanities through their own personal efforts and the help of Sharak's protective barrier.

But Nataku has been given a mission, by a yet unidentified source, and all he seemed to be able to do was to blindly fulfill his task. When the Sanzo Party came by to help, Nataku's focus shifted to the four of them, and he was thus ordered to eliminate the four newcomers first.

The episode ended with the Sanzo Party badly incapacitated and Nataku calmly stating that he's ready to fulfill his original mission now.

What will Sharak do now that the Sanzo Party seems to be out of the equation? Or are they really? Will the female Sanzo be forced to take some seriously drastic steps in order to protect this particular village that she has been keeping safe for a long time now?

Then again, what could possibly make a war god stop from fulfilling his given task? And more importantly, who is he getting these orders from?

Genjo, Goku, Hakkai, and Gojyo may have already hit the end of the road; that is if they don't manage to stand up once more to face Nataku. There is also still the lingering matter of Gojyo's demon mark and the possibility that the guy might get overwhelmed by it at any minute.

And then there's Goku and Nataku's shared but forgotten past, which could quite possibly play a role in turning the situation to the Sanzo Party's favor.

There are still a lot of plot points that the series can take on, thus making fans believe that a second season just might happen in the future.

"Saiyuki Reload Blast" airs on Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. JST on AT-X and on Thursdays at midnight JST on Tokyo MX. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also available in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
