Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus and ATIV Tab 3 Release Date Arrives in Coming Weeks (Pre-Order Details)

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus and ATIV Tab 3 have been announced by the South Korean tech. company this week, and both devices will now be made available in North America.

The Notebook will be offered for pre-purchase at $1,399.99 starting on August 18 and the tablet will hit stores officially on Sept. 1 and will retail for $699.99. They are Windows 8 devices.

Specifications on the ATIV Book 9 include a 13.3-inch LED-lit LCD screen with a resolution of 3200x1800, a 10-point touch input, 350 nit SuperBright technology, and Gorilla Glass protection. The device will be powered by an Intel Core i5-4200U processor that clocks in at 1.6GHz. The book also packs an Intel HD Graphics 4400 chip, 4GB of DDR3 memory, and a battery that can last up to 7.5 hours on one single charge.

"The panel also tilts back up to 180-degrees, so you can change or share your perspective with just a touch of your finger," said Samsung. "Additionally, the display locks at approximately 110-degrees to ensure a comfortable touch experience without wobbling."

The laptop will also have a built-in 720p webcam, an 129GB SSD, a 3-in-1 card slot, two USB 3.0 ports, a headphone/microphone combo, miniVGA output and microHDMI output. It will weigh 3.06 pounds and measures in at 0.54-inches thick. It comes in Mineral Ash Black and will have a boot time of 5.9 seconds.

The ATIV Tab 3 will comes with a 10.1-inch LED-lit screen with a 1366x768 resolution, 400 nit SuperBright Touch technology, 5-point touch input, and support for Samsung's S Pen. The tablet will be powered by an Intel Atom Z2760 SoC that clocks in at 1.8GHz. It features Intel GMA graphics, 2GB of DDR2 memory, and a battery said to last up to 7 hours on one charge.
