Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2018 Specs, Release Date: Leak Reveals Handsets Will Fix the Design Flaw in the S8 and Note 8 and More
The 2018 iterations of the Samsung Galaxy A-Series are fixing one of the design flaws that users took serious issue with in Samsung's latest flagship offerings.
In a bunch of leaked cases for the next-generation Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 shared by a leakster from China, it is revealed that the high-end line, which sits just below Samsung's top offerings in the mobile hierarchy, will have the fingerprint scanner under the rear camera.
In the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8, this feature is placed next to the sensors, an awkward position that causes users to accidentally touch and stain the camera while unlocking the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 seem to rectify that as far as this leak goes. One thing to note though is that it is not getting a dual camera setup, a feature that Samsung appears to be saving up for its higher-end releases. It is getting one snapper on the back with the LED flash placed next to it.
The leaked cases also show that the handsets will sport a dedicated Bixby button, which some users are not a fan of. The good thing about it is that this button can be disabled.
Meanwhile, in leaked schematics of the Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2018 from the same source, the handsets are seen sporting the Infinity Display the top of the line Samsung smartphones first boasted.
With the A-series almost blurring the line between midrange and flagship, Samsung is always playing catch up when it comes to the smartphones from this lineup.
As GSM Arena points out, the Samsung Galaxy A5, A7 and their siblings usually get a year later the high-end features that the S-series debuted. In the case of the 2018 versions, it is the tall screen that made many users fall in love with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 that they will be inheriting.
