Samsung Galaxy Book vs iPad Pro Specs Review: Which Tablet Is Right for You?

Of all the tablets released by Samsung, the Galaxy Book seems to be the most promising. This tablet was envisioned to compete against the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, but considering its specs and features, it is also interesting to compare it with Apple's iPad Pro.

The Galaxy Book comes in two screen sizes: 10.6-inch and 12-inch. Currently, the iPad Pro comes in two screen sizes, too, a 9.7-inch and a 12.9-inch screen. There are rumors, however, that Apple will soon introduce a 10.5-inch iPad Pro and an updated version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Samsung has yet to reveal the prices for its Galaxy Book but it is rumored to come with a free keyboard case and an S Pen stylus. Samsung wins here, since Apple charges separately for its keyboard case.

As for the software, the Galaxy Book runs Windows 10, unlike the Tab S3 which runs Android. Since it runs Windows 10, it means that users can freely install desktop apps on it and can open as many windows as they wish. On the other hand, the iPad Pro has few software features, which include the ability to run two apps on a single screen at once.

When it comes to versatility, the Galaxy Book has two USB-C ports, although currently, the USB-C requires converters to be compatible with standard USB devices. Just as the Galaxy Book's ports are not that impressive, the Smart Connector of the iPad Pro has a single Lightning port which also needs to be converted for the device to be attached to an HDMI screen.

Both the Galaxy Book and iPad Pro have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but the iPad Pro has something that the Galaxy Book doesn't have: AirPlay. This feature lets users send videos wirelessly from the tablet to an Apple TV.

Considering their specs and features, it is easy to conclude that the Galaxy Book and iPad Pro are both impressive, but which to opt for between the two depends on one's preferences. The Galaxy Book is for those who seek productivity since it runs on Windows, while the iPad Pro is best for entertainment.
