Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Specs: Leak Points To Better Processor

Samsung may be busy with their flagship smartphones but they are not forgetting their other Galaxy lines. According to Geeky Gadgets, the South Korean tech giant seems to be prepping up to add another device to its Galaxy J range after multiple leaks surfaced. The said device is dubbed as the Galaxy J1 Mini, which is purported to be the lower end version of the Galaxy J1 and Galaxy J1 Ace.

It was spotted in GFXbench carrying the model number SM-J105F. As listed by the site, the device is said to come with operating system Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Under the hood will be a Spreadtrum SC8830 chipset with quad-core 1.5GHz CPU and an ARM Mali-400 MP2 (dual core) GPU. It is expected to have 1 GB of RAM with 8 GB of storage.

It is also noted to sport a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. In terms of its photo taking features, the primary camera is 5 megapixels with flash and HDR photo. It can also take 1280 x 960 video. The front camera is 0.3 megapixels with VGA (640 x480). Other expected features include an accelerometer, a Bluetooth and a GPS.

GSM Arena reported that the handset was also found in the listing of Zauba, a website that follows India's import and export. The only difference though is that instead of having a 4.3-inch display, it is said to only have a 4-inch display. It is also said to cost around $50 only. A code on Spreadtrum's website also associated the model number SM-J105F to the J1 Mini.

The rumored smartphone is expected to be a downgraded version of the existing Galaxy J1 but according to Softpedia, it seems like the mini version is slightly better. To compare, the Galaxy J1 comes with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor only. It is also packed with only 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. Aside from that, the selfie snapper of the current model is only 2 megapixels while the mini is expected to have a modest VGA front camera. The operating system of the mini is also more updated compared to the Galaxy J1's Android 4.4 KitKat.

It is still unknown when the Galaxy J1 Mini will arrive but it's presumed to be coming around soon since it has been spotted in multiple leaks already.
