Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 Release Date: USA and Asia to Get the New Smartphone?

When it comes to smartphones, Samsung probably has one of the most number of selections. The main Galaxy flagship series is already up to its fifth device with sixth on the way while there numerous variations to the original flagship like a smaller "Mini" version and a bigger "Mega" version. The Galaxy Mega 2 is an example and can already be classified as a phablet due to its size.

The Galaxy Mega 2 is already released for the Asian markets, quietely aand suddenly popping up from various retail sites without any kind of warning. It first appeared in Malaysia but then only recently did Thailand get the phone as well. It is still unknown when the Western markets will be getting the phone.

The Galaxy Mega 2 sports a 6.0-inch display with a 1280 x 720 screen resolution.The screen size has taken the middle ground between the old 5.8-inch of the Galaxy S4 and the 6.3-inch screen of the first Galaxy Mega. It is still unknown whether the display is Super AMOLED but since it is Samsung, it probably is.

It runs on an Exynos 4415 chipset and a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, has 1.5 GB of RAM, and supports up to 16 of internal memory with an expandable microSD memory card slot capable of up to 64GB. At the rear, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera with a 2.1-megapixel snapper up front.

For the price, the Galaxy Mega 2 sells for just under $400.
