Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus Arriving Mid-August

In an industry where timing is as important as the product being sold, Samsung may be planning to take the upper hand over its tightest competitors when it comes to revealing two of its new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. An insider source says that the Korean company is revealing the two new devices in the middle of August.

The two devices, which can be categorized as phablets because of their screen size, is going to be unveiled at a press event on Aug. 12 and they will be available for buyers immediately after -- two weeks to be exact -- on Aug. 21.

Samsung is jumping the gun on Apple, which is said to be introducing the iPhone 6S Plus during its yearly September release schedule. The report said that it does not want to "repeat what happened last year when Apple entered the phablet game with the iPhone 6 Plus." Samsung has been the dominant player in the phablet category when it came out with the first Galaxy Note and hopes to continue being one with the launch of not just one, but two phablets in 2015.
