Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note Edge Rumors: Details Leaked on Upcoming Phones

September is IFA time in Berlin and if Samsung will not change its announcement schedule for new smartphones, it is likely that the company will reveal the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge during the 2014 conference.

In 2014, Samsung made such a big splash in the phablet industry when it introduced not just one but two phablets: the Note 4 and the Note Edge. The Note Edge was one of the most innovative introductions made by the company, revealing how a curved edge can serve an important purpose of "allowing users to display information, shortcuts and more, without losing focus of the content on the main screen," according to a report in Tech Times. The report also says that 2015 may not be any different from 2015, with Samsung introducing something more innovative for its phablet line.

According to a report in Sam Mobile, sources from the inside have revealed that the company is indeed preparing to launch the Galaxy Note 5 and a second-generation Galaxy Note Edge.

One source claims that the Galaxy Note 5 may feature a 2K or a 4K flat-screen Super AMOLED display and a new processor, the Sony Exynos 7422 processor and Sony's own modem. The Exynos 7422 is the company's all-in-one solution which contains the CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and modem in a single chip.

Another source shared what was called "Project Zen" which is the codename of the second-generation Galaxy Note Edge. Unlike the first-generation, it will not carry the same high end specs as the Galaxy Note 5. It will have the curved edge but with a 5.4 inch or 5.5 inch Super AMOLED dual edge curved display, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 16GB internal storage, a 16 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera.

These reports are unconfirmed and may change up until Sony releases official details hopefully before the September IFA conference.
